Job Description:
Developing and managing plans and operations to effect reciprocal agreements for information sharing between the Criminal investigations Division and various Federal, New York State, and local municipal governmental and law enforcement authorities; managing collaborative investigative programs and task force operations with other law enforcement organizations; and for overseeing and coordinating statewide investigative programs and activities.
Job Requirements:
Ten years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience involving the investigation of criminal activities. At least two years of this experience must also include the investigation of tax crimes that have required substantial involvement with, and responsibility for: intelligence programs related to the detection and contravention of large-scale organized criminal activities; the management and use of law enforcement management information systems; the organization and management of multi-agency investigative task forces; and the supervision of major investigations. This experience must also include either three years of experience at a supervisory level, or one year of experience at a managerial level.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Assistant Director, Investigations is a title which carries peace officer status.
Appointees must:
•Be a United States citizen
•Be a resident of New York State at the time of appointment and maintain state residency
continuously during employment.
•Have a valid New York State driver’s license.
•Be able to obtain a valid pistol permit.
•Pass a required pre-employment psychological test.
