Department Summary Administrative Services oversees multiple business hubs and Shared Service organizations throughout the University. Located within the Finance and Administration portfolio, the objective of the division is to provide efficient, strategic and specialized administrative services to support the missions of various departments, schools and colleges at the University of Oregon. Administrative Services focuses on supporting department-specific budget, finance, payroll, human resource and procure-to-pay functions; as well as specialized physical security technologies. We are a metric-driven, people-first administrative team that strives to create efficient, effective and sustainable support structures across campus.
Position Summary Reporting to the Executive Assistant to the AVP, the Office Specialist is the face of Administrative Services and provides overall office support with a primary focus on reception. Reception duties include directing students, faculty, staff and visitors to departments in the building. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ordering office supplies, sorting mail, maintaining common spaces and conference rooms, managing the visitor parking spaces, maintaining department vehicles, including keeping accurate servicing schedules and supporting the Executive Assistant to the AVP on division-wide initiatives and events.
Interactions and contacts occur daily with the campus community in the course of performing work and responding to emergencies. The incumbent can expect a varied and engaging workday as a result. This position will work typical office hours onsite.
It is an essential requirement of this position to qualify for and maintain UO driver's certification eligibility, which includes maintaining a drivers license throughout employment in this position.
Minimum Requirements Completion of courses or training in Office Technology; OR One year of general clerical experience which included typing, word processing, or other generation of documents; OR An equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office suite products beyond basic editing functions Experience performing administrative duties in a business environment. Professional experience in a higher education environment. Demonstrated ability to perform excellent customer service and communication.
