Job Title: Janitorial Associate / Custodian

Primary Objective: The Custodian cleans and maintains assigned areas within the Burkett property.

Reports To: Service Manager
Pay Scale / Hours: $14/Hr / Full-time on Mon Fri / Hours are 8am-5pm

Essential Functions & Expectations:

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Follows procedures for storage and disposal of trash and transports it to designated areas
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning.
• Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, and chairs, to prepare facilities for events such as lunches and meetings.
• Other tasks as defined by management

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50lbs., occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
• Highly motivated, disciplined problem-solver / troubleshooter. Strong ethics and ability to work in team environment
• Previous custodial experience preferred
• Respect for safe work practices
• Ability to communicate with all services and support members
• Read, write, and communicate effectively
• Stand for long periods of time
• Stoop, kneel, crawl and crouch
