Business Analyst I JOB-1364 Location: Remote or onsite Duration: 24 months
The position is primarily focused on project and business analysis support of various initiatives related to Outage Analysis Technologies (OAT) department applications, with a primary focus on the eDART application. This individual will interact with the business users, gather and document As-Is and To-Be processes and requirements, as well as document application dependencies, and provide improvement recommendations.
Specific responsibilities will include but, not be limited to:
- Coordination around legacy eDART application customer support and triage enhancements/bugfixes for legacy eDART application
- Documentation upkeep for legacy eDART application, and transitioning for refreshed eDART UI (i.e., the Dart UI)
- Contributing to Dart UI project documentation and coordination
- Supporting the management of eDART user accounts, including the initial integration of over
- 8000 eDART user accounts into Account Manager
- Potential other responsibilities with a primary focus on the eDART/Dart tool-suite.
Lead role for above specific responsibilities: - Assisting in User Acceptance Testing efforts around application enhancements
- Support changes by creating change tickets and making sure the necessary release individuals
- complete the changes
- Document, review and update business process requirements based on user feedback
- Analyze, review, and document current structure and use cases of the application or process
- Serve as a business liaison between clients and project teams to help understand user
- interaction
- Track required tasks through completion
- Ability to develop/update existing materials and support the team in understanding of
- requirements or training materials as needed
- Develop process flows as needed
- Assist the Product Owner and Lead in maintaining the Product Backlog
- Establishing a sense of urgency to complete tasks in a timely, cost-effective manner with top quality
- Document and track problems in business systems or processes to provide recommendations for future efficiencies
- Potential expansion into other short-term projects outside of eDART/Dart application(s)
Requirements - B.S. degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)
- Excellent requirements gathering skills and experience
- Experience in process design and/or documentation;
- Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, managing workload and priorities
- Skilled at documenting best practices such as using revision history/version control/requirement unique identifier
- Willing to learn new things and share knowledge to others; Proactive; Resourceful
Preferred Skills and Experience: - Experience using Visio or equivalent process mapping solutions
- Experience using JIRA and Confluence
- Experience working with business and technical staff to define, document, and track software requirements and design; Can manage difficult stakeholders
- Experience in developing business analysis deliverables like requirements document, As-Is and To-Be process diagrams, use cases, traceability matrix, data dictionary, business rules, meeting notes, etc.
Outage Analysis Technologies (OAT) department The OAT department falls under the Operations Planning subdivision, under the client Operations Division. Through application design, prioritization, management and support efforts, OAT looks to enhance Operations workforce effectiveness for client and its stakeholders. While eDART/Dart is the primary focus of the OAT BA, additional OAT tools include Emergency Procedures, Keystone, Opal, OPD Web Services, RTDMS, SmartLogs, Taramisu tool-suite, real-time and study Topology Control, TO Connection tool-suite, TSA/TSARx, Voltage dFax and VSA.
eDART - a client created and managed suite of about 24 applications which facilitate client internal /member / external coordination around the lifecycle of client Operations model equipment.
