A Daycare Chef seeking a culinary professional to provide exemplary nutrition to meet the needs of young children. The chef will cook 2 meals and 1 snack daily for approximately 150 people, Monday-Friday, and be responsible for the overall cleanliness, organization, and sensitization of the kitchen.

Responsibilities:

  • Cooking/serving 2 meals and 1 snack daily
  • Leading kitchen staff in the food and cart prep for meals
  • Perform daily and weekly cleaning, as directed
  • Managing inventory and food orders/deliveries in concert with the Facilities Manager
  • Ensuring compliance with menus and licensing; seeking authorization for any/all substitutions
  • Preparing USDA documentation

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Applicants will be familiar with, and put in practice, the Food Handler rules and regulations (a copy
of these rules will be given to the applicant at the time of employment
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team, sharing in responsibilities, successes,
and challenge
  • Standing on feet for consecutive hours
  • Organizational skills
  • Keen sense of cleanliness
  • Flexibility
  • Ability to schedule time
  • Ability to observe sanitation and safety guidelines
  • Ability to unpack, inventory, and accurately report on food stock
  • Ability to work effectively with others
  • Ability to take direction from supervisors. This position reports to the Facilities Manager
  • Qualified applicants must be able to lift 30 pounds.
