CDR Maguire (CDR|M) delivers solutions that move people, and we are looking for a Water Resources Engineer to join our Transportation Engineering Division. This position can sit in any of our Allentown, Montoursville, Mechanicsburg or Pittsburgh, PA offices.

Responsibilities including:

  • Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic analyses using unsteady state and 2D models.
  • Perform watershed feasibility studies and conceptual designs to provide water quality, flood reduction, and ecological benefits in a watershed.
  • Perform GIS analyses to support engineering and technical services.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic computations required to design and analyze highway drainage systems and stormwater management basins.
  • Provide support to a diverse team of professionals in multiple offices.
  • Perform quality assurance checks of hydrologic and hydraulic models, graphics and reports.
  • Contributes to the preparation or modification of reports, plans and designs for projects.
  • Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.
  • Write documents summarizing work performed.
  • Complete tasks on schedule with pride and ownership of your work.
  • Attend project meetings involving communication to local government officials.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related water resources experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic processes.
  • Familiarity with the Rational Method and NRCS TR-55 hydrologic computation methods is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microstation InRoads (OpenRoads), AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, PondPack, HydroCAD, or equivalent software.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in watershed and storm water management, stormwater retrofits and green stormwater infrastructure strategies, surface hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, drainage, erosion and sediment control, sediment transport, and watershed/waterway modeling (preferred).
  • Desired Computer skills: ArcView/GIS
  • Professional Engineering certification strongly preferred.
