The Job: The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe and effective nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures. Work Schedule: Full TimeLocation: Community Hospital Responsibilities:- Provide pre/intra/post procedure nursing care (assessment, monitoring, intervention and education) related to diagnostic and therapeutic adult cardiac catheterization procedures including (but not limited to) angioplasty, coronary stents, , Swan Ganz/right heart catheterization, and pericardiocentesis. - Assess the patient upon admission to the cardiac cath lab department, ensuring all labs orders and results are in patient chart, H & P within 30 days of procedure, contrast allergy noted, consents are present and familiarize self with patient chart. - Administer intravenous and oral medications to patients per physician order and according to policy and procedure. - Demonstrate knowledge in the following: angioplasty, coronary stents, Swan Ganz/right heart cath, pericardiocentesis, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and recognition of cardiac rhythms. Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree in nursing (or its equivalent).- At least two (2) years of cardiac catheterization experience required. - Current, unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse.- Current BLS- Current ALS - RCIS preferred, or obtained within 1 yearThis position's pay range is: $35.96 50.34 per hour, depending on education and experience.
