  • Our client is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their multidisciplinary design team developing industry-leading displays and controllers for the heavy vehicle industry. Primary responsibilities will include maintaining legacy designs of gauges, displays, and control modules and the development of newly related ones. All manners of product development can be expected to be encountered generating specifications, preparing design revisions and conducting reviews, component selection, executing and analysis of circuit layouts, evaluation and debugging, testing, and eventual manufacturing support.

    Responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer:

    Design, develop, and test analog and digital circuits, including microcontrollers.

    • Create schematic.
    • Coordinate PCB layouts.
    • Specify components.
    • Create PCBA BOMs.
    • Write a product specification.
    • Write test plans.
    • Validate designs at the product level (testing and debugging).
    • Work with a project team from other locations (Bangalore India, Warrenville IL, Reynosa Mexico) and disciplines (mechanical, software, manufacturing).

    Requirements of the Electrical Design Engineer:

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or BET in Electronics
    • Minimum of 3 years design experience of display, power, and analog/digital conversion products.
    • Competency in the utilization of computer software (Simulink, PSpice, Mathcad, Excel, Word).
    • Experience with PCB layout tools, e.g. Altium
    • Strong problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to diagnose, analyze, and troubleshoot a range of technical problems. Familiarity and use of typical electronics test bench equipment (oscilloscope, DVM).
    • Good interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and as a team member. Ability to contribute to multiple projects.
