| Manage SQL Databases: Effective experience with managing the organizations' s data-architecture. Perform all Database Operations including planning, configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring and other security configurations. Gather Requirements: Gather requirements and specifications from various teams for the development of new database systems based on functional needs. Installations & Migration: Build & Manage SQL Server databases in multiple environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. Perform migration of databases from older version of SQL servers to the newer along with respective service pack. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance to ensure high levels of availability and security. Ensure adequate database indexing and proper index management is deployed. Performance Tuning: Hands-on experience performing SQL Server database and Transact SQL performance tuning. Gather metrics to report, analyze, and identify performance and resource bottlenecks. Assist various teams with Query Optimization techniques for handling data effectively to improve system efficiency. Business continuity/disaster recovery: Knowledge of configuring database backups & restores to meet the business Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO). High Availability & Cloud: Implement database HA/DR solutions including Clustering, Mirroring, Replication, Log shipping and Always on. Experience in configuring & managing Azure environment. Qualifications / Requirements: Minimum 10+ years of experience in support of MS SQL Server along with exposure to latest versions. Must have knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server. Knowledge with PowerShell scripts & other scripting languages to develop automation strategies. Experience with Incident & Change Management principles and tools. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. |
