ENGINEERING TECH-Application deadline: Until filled-Public Works/Engineering-Duties: Prepares routine designs, plans, specifications & bid documents for approval; makes preliminary estimates of work & material required; prepares cost computations. Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.; two (2) years course work in engineering technology or related field; must obtain construction inspection verification from KDOT within one (1) year from start date of employment. Experience: Two (2) years work, education or training in civil engineering field work &/or drafting. Requirements: Must possess a valid Kansas drivers license at hire; possession of a valid Kansas Class B commercial drivers license (CDL) with air brake & tanker endorsements or obtain within one (1) year from the start date of employment. Starting pay: $18.08-20.93/hr.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II -Until filled- Parks & Recreation/Facilities-Duties: Assists in tracking department budgets, generating financial reports, & processing invoices for facility maintenance or improvement projects. Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. Experience: Two (2) years of progressively responsible clerical work in office setting. Requirements: Must live within 40-minute response time; valid Kansas drivers license. Starting pay: $17.21-18.07/hr.

RECREATION ASSISTANT I DOG WALKER (PART-TIME)-Application deadline: Until filled-Parks & Recreation/ Animal Services-Duties: Walks dogs ensuring adequate exercise, socialization, & potty breaks; ensures safety & well-being of dogs. Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. Experience: One year dog walking or pet care preferred. Requirements: Must be eighteen years of age or older; must be able to walk steadily for 20-30 minutes or for extended periods in various weather conditions. Starting pay: $13.00/hr.

RECREATION ASSISTANT II -ANIMAL TECH ASSISTANT (PART-TIME)-Application deadline: Until filled-Parks & Recreation/Animal Services-Duties: Cleans & provides daily care to animals; helps with pet adoptions; answers telephone inquiries, assists visitors, & provides customer service. Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. Experience: Previous animal care work or veterinary setting; basic computer skills; telephone & communication skills. Requirements: Must be eighteen years of age or older; approximately nineteen hours per week. Starting Pay: $12.13-14.13/hr.
