SUMMARY: Management Business Solutions is seeking a Battery Reliability Engineer for its client in Waukesha, WI. The person will be responsible for developing and enhancing battery systems designed for clean energy applications, focusing on advancing energy storage solutions and ensuring product reliability and safety. The Battery Reliability Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and optimize battery performance to meet the highest industry standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, implement, and execute reliability testing protocols for battery systems, including life-cycle and stress tests.
Monitor and assess battery performance under various environmental and operational conditions to identify and address potential failure modes.
Perform root cause analysis on battery performance issues and recommend design improvements to increase system reliability.
Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to integrate reliability and durability considerations into battery system designs.
Utilize simulation tools and data analytics to predict battery performance, degradation, and lifetime, proposing enhancements to extend battery life.
Collect and analyze performance and degradation data from testing, field usage, and laboratory research.
Develop predictive maintenance and failure prediction models to support long-term product reliability.
Lead efforts in safety testing and certification processes to meet or exceed regulatory standards for clean energy battery applications.
Recommend and implement process improvements in reliability testing, data analysis, and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. PhD is preferred.
7+ years of experience in battery reliability engineering, energy storage, or related fields.
Proficiency in battery testing methods, reliability testing, and data analysis.
Knowledge of battery chemistries (e.g., lithium-ion, solid-state) and their behavior under various conditions.
Experience with simulation tools and reliability prediction models.
Familiarity with regulatory standards and safety protocols in battery design and testing.
Strong analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving abilities.
