Meltblown Operators are part of the main operational force within the Manufacturing Department. This role is responsible for a variety of objectives including safety, quality, production, housekeeping, and possibly medium equipment maintenance at certain years of experience.
Primary responsibilities may include one, all, or a combination of the following within a workday depending on the level of experience:
Operation of the sheeter/stacker/packaging portion of the meltblown production line
Production of finished goods in the meltblown work center
Material handling of raw materials and finished goods
Operation of meltblown production equipment from the resin feeding system through the bale packaging
Accessing quality specs and special instructions on orders
Performing quality checks and collecting quality data as needed
Performing other production related duties as assigned
Training as a backup supervisor for those more experienced
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent and can read, write, and understand instructions in English. Must be able to perform mathematics commensurate with high school graduation levels.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or light manufacturing environment is preferred but not required; experience working in a continuous manufacturing facility is a plus.
- Experience operating a forklift is a plus
Skills Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of machine operation and a team production concept
Excellent oral and written communication skills including writing reports
Must be able to operate office equipment such as a personal computer and printer
Must be able to interact with people in other departments for a common goal
Must have a willingness to share input to help improve processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is a plus
Ability to operate a forklift
