Starting Salary: $ 56,310.57

Telework Available: On site only.

Position Description:
Christ House Transformational Housing provides intensive case management to 14 homeless men to reestablish their independence. Ministry staff offer life skills, spiritual formation, financial literacy, employment training and counseling. Christ House also operates a volunteer run Evening Meal soup kitchen that provides a warm To-Go dinner to homeless and low-income Alexandrians 365 days a year. The Transitional Housing Manager will serve as an important member of our team to provide dedicated servant leadership in three primary roles: supervising evening program activities for the transitional housing residents. managing meal guest operations at the nightly evening meal and managing weekend and overnight staff.

Position Responsibilities:
1. Provide evening supervision of Christ House residents and activities: 50%

o Manage evening activities and provide oversight of nightly shelter operations ensuring the safety of residents, staff and volunteers.
o Ensure residents Sign In/Out Log, attend required meetings and complete nightly chores.
o Conduct room checks weekly or as necessary or as assigned by Program Director.
o Provide and document resident medications from locked safe.
o Document all notable resident interactions with staff, volunteers, and/or other clients.
o Facilitate weekly community meeting, share life lessons, and review house guidelines.
o Participate in and contribute to weekly treatment team meeting.
o Conduct Case Management as needed and annotate in client database.
o Provide crisis intervention and respond to emergencies per Agency guidelines.
o Conduct random breathalyzers and follow protocols for intoxicated residents.
o Make rounds to inspect areas of the facility as scheduled. Enter shift info in Log Book.
2. Oversee evening meal guest operations: 35%

Greet and provide servant leadership to volunteers and meal guests.
Ensure safe environment per Agency policies both inside and outside the building.
Maintain daily guest count log identifying new guests in log for unduplicated count.
Insure after meal dining room, kitchen, lobby & bathroom clean up via resident chore or self.
Provide crisis intervention and respond to emergencies per Agency guidelines.
Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with evening meal and program clients.

3. Manage weekend staff and programming: 15%

o Schedule effective weekend shift coverage and safe shelter operations per protocols.
o Meet with staff to set priorities; deliver quarterly performance conversations
o Ensure Dayforce compliance.
o Respond to staffs weekend issues phone calls; consulting Program Director as necessary.
o Responsible to occasionally cover weekend shifts to relieve staff and stay in touch with shift.
o Work with Program Director to coordinate quarterly weekend staff meetings.

Qualifications & Skills:
Passion for helping those less fortunate
Fluency in Microsoft office
Communicate effectively and empathize with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to supervise and motivate staff.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn and demonstrate servant leadership.
Ability to adjust quickly, using sound judgement maintaining professional composure in emergency situations.
Punctuality and dependability required.
The position is considered "essential" personnel in times of hardship, such as extreme weather conditions and/or other emergencies.

Education and Experience:
Associates or Bachelors degree in related field.
Two years of experience working in non-profit management and/or program development.
Supervisory experience
Knowledge of homelessness and direct experience working with clients in the human services field or in residential settings is preferred.
Experience training and inspiring volunteers and coaching and inspiring clients.
