Principal Research Associate, Research Analytics (Cambridge, MA). Execute platform analytical and molecular methods to characterize the chemical, biophysical, and molecular properties of Arbor’s gene editing tools and therapeutic candidates. Develop and execute non-viral and viral characterization assays including but not limited to particle size, encapsulation efficiency, osmolarity, capsid purity. Use molecular biology tools to develop ddPCR-based assays to measure gene editing in cells and in animals, and to develop and implement molecular design principles such as mRNA codon optimization and gRNA design. Work closely with internal and external collaborators to evaluate Arbor’s gene editing tools and therapeutic candidates. Document and analyze experimental data. Communicate results effectively at cross-functional meetings, focusing on leveraging gene editing tools to develop curative products. Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioengineering or closely related field (or foreign degree equivalent). Required Experience: At least 5 years of industry or academic experience in life sciences or related research laboratory. Alternate Requirements: Master of Science degree in Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field (or foreign degree equivalent) and 2 years of industry or academic experience in life sciences or related research laboratory. Required Skills: Demonstrated ability with chemistry, biochemical and biophysical techniques including HPLC, CE, DLS, Particle Analyzer; Demonstrated ability with molecular biology techniques including ddPCR and molecular cloning; Demonstrated ability with non-viral and viral-mediated delivery systems; Demonstrated ability with research including designing experiments and analyzing data; Demonstrated ability using analytical and molecular technologies including chromatography, electrophoresis, particle analyzers and PCR. Aforementioned ability may be gained professionally or academically (coursework, projects, internships). 9-5, M-F, $85,842-$123,000/yr.
