We are looking for a self-motivated and hands-on individual to join our Burlingame team as a Senior Systems Administrator to assist in maintaining the entire production infrastructure. Systems Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, monitoring and maintaining the network equipment, servers and communication links.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- 7+ years of strong hands-on System Administration experience.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, OSI, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, routing, switching and firewalls.
- Strong hands-on skills in a datacenter environment working with power, rack space and AC configuration.
- Deep understanding of the Windows Operating System, including application servers, database software and deployment technologies.
- Building and maintaining servers.
- Experience with Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with Storage Area Networks (NetApp, EqualLogic, EMC, Nimble).
- Design, implement and maintain Data Backup and Recovery, including off-site Backups.
- Day-to-day proactive network and systems performance monitoring and taking corrective actions.
- Network upgrades, hardware refreshes and OS/software upgrades and patching.
- Scripting knowledge (VB, Batch, WSH, PowerShell, Python).
- Deployment and maintenance of monitoring, analysis and reporting tools.
- Remote Access Technologies – Citrix, RDP, SSH, SplashTop, etc.
- Working knowledge of network security including VPNs, ACLs, IPSEC, SSL, TLS.
- Strong experience with Exchange, Office 365, Domain Controller, Active Directory.
- Sophos Antivirus or similar Enterprise Software.
- Spam filtering technologies; email and spam troubleshooting.
- Ensure stable and reliable production environment. Problem diagnostics, fault analysis and repair across the full stack, including servers, routers/switches, wireless access points, VoIP phones and security cameras.
- Designing and implementing infrastructure, wireless and surveillance solutions to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Ability to evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for hardware replacements of additions.
- Ability to adapt and learn new technologies based on business needs.
- Ability to occasionally work outside of standard business hours.
Education
- A Bachelor's degree in technical discipline or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience as required for the specific job level.
