Brock Solutions is an engineering solutions and professional services company specializing in the design, build and implementation of real-time solutions for broad based industrial/manufacturing and transportation/logistics organizations globally. As Brock Solutions continues to grow and respond to the on-going requirements of major clients, we need to add talent to our base of outstanding professionals. We are currently seeking a Deployment Specialist to join our SmartSuite Enterprise product team, located at our head office in Kitchener, ON.



Working with other highly motivated individuals, you will be key in delivering SmartSuite baggage products to airline and airport customers.



Responsibilities:



Requirement Gathering




  • Consult with client prior to the implementation, conducting a process review meeting to determine how SmartSuite products can fulfill a customer's unique business requirements

  • Identify new feature requirements. May have some involvement in the development of these features

  • Create detailed functional specifications and server architecture diagrams, ensuring high availability of our operational critical Airport IT products



Product Development




  • Deploy SmartSuite Enterprise products to production servers, with minimal customizations

  • Test software integrations with third party vendors, performing minor code adjustments as necessary



Onsite Commissioning




  • Deliver end user training, acceptance tests and product demonstrations to customers of varying technical backgrounds including; airline representatives, ground handlers and IT support groups

  • Test, troubleshoot and resolve software issues alongside our end users



Ongoing Support




  • Provide technical support to end users, alongside Brock's in-house support team

  • Troubleshoot older products code, perform root cause analysis and deploy software patches to production



Qualifications Required:




  • Customer focused attitude and strong communication skills.

  • Ability/Desire to work collaboratively with key stakeholders, end users, developers and project managers

  • Knowledge of Windows Failover Clustering, Disaster Recovery, SQL AlwaysOn Availability Groups, and other technologies to provide highly available software to our customers

  • Basic understanding of Message Queueing protocols (WebSphere MQ, MSMQ, Rabbit MQ etc) is an asset.

  • Knowledge of Azure Cloud hosted SaaS Model is highly desired.

  • Background in software development – experience troubleshooting or developing code in C#, ASP.NET and SQL server.

  • Expect to be involved in a variety of product deployment tasks

  • Diploma or Degree from a post-secondary institution in Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.

  • This position requires travel (approximately 30%)
