Site Reliability Engineer
Base: $170,000 - $220,000

Our clients Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) work to bring the practices of SREs to the financial trading field, bringing innovation and cutting edge technology to reduce complexity and improve performance. SREs are responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning. SREs will have a deep understanding of how applications function and are able to change infrastructure for production quality.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the reliability, availability and performance of network infrastructure & network-related application
- Automate repetitive tasks to eliminate toil and drive consistency + repeatability
- Test for scale, check for disaster readiness and instrument production probes
- Manage risk - identify risk tolerance and determine target level of infrastructure availability
- Forecast demand and plan for capacity
- Monitor, Configure & Troubleshoot Switching/Routing/Multicast
- Commission and decommission infrastructure
- Provide support to production infrastructure and evangelize SRE mindset
- Actively participate in incident response, postmortem and root-cause analysis
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a network SRE
- Experience maintaining networks at scale
- Deep understanding of LAN, WAN and Linux networking
- Proficiency in one of these programming languages: Python, Go, Java
- Automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Ninja)
- Hands on experience in a multi-vendor environment (e.g., Cisco, Arista, F5)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecom Engineering or a relevant field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge / experience with Virtual Networking (like VMware NSX)
- Qualifications such as CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) / CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
- Understanding of Linux OS
- Experience with building and managing highly reliable large scale systems
- Experience in finance industry / dealing with trading networks, exchange connectivity, and/or brokers/banks
