Highly qualified candidates will demonstrate a strong ability to perform the following required tasks:
Basic knowledge of electronic theory and practice, of mathematics, and the fundamentals of physics as they relate to electronics in order to perform a variety of standardized technicians tasks; Skill and ability to operate and adjust varied equipment in order to perform numerous standardized tests or operations; Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and to perform mathematical, analytical and judgmental tasks; Replaces components, takes test readings and wires circuits; familiar with the operation and design characteristics of electronic equipment and with maintenance procedures and standards.
Incumbents will be required to travel for extended periods, in excess of 50 percent of the work year. When on travel, the duty station is aboard a survey platform. Assignments when on travel require considerable physical exertion such as standing for extended periods, frequently climbing stairways/ladders, occasionally lifting instrumentation in excess of 50 pounds, crouching or working in restricted areas while the survey platform is in motion. Medical certification of fitness for sea duty is required.
Basic Requirements: Successful completion of 2 years of study that included at least 12 semester hours in engineering, physical science, technology, or mathematics. At least 6 of the 12 semester hours must have been in electronics courses.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $31,208.00 - $68,777.00 per year
