Accounting Assistant – Deposit, NY

This position will serve as a strategic partner to the Accounting Manager, Accounting Team, and the larger LBS Team, assisting in the coordination and execution of the company’s Accounting functions; ensuring maximum productivity, profitability, efficiency, quality control, and alignment with company and departmental goals and guidelines. Looking for an individual to foster, manage, and promote positive internal and external relationships through excellent communication and customer service while assisting in the development of and adherence to sound practices and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Performs daily accounting functions, providing accurate and timely financial reporting to ensure practices are in accordance with accepted accounting practices and LBS policy and procedures.
- Balances schedules and reconciles accounts as delegated by Accounting Manager.
- Prepares credit card reconciliation and expense report analysis and makes related journal entries.
- Tracks and maintains floor plans by preparing documents, creating and posting journal entries to add vehicles to floor plans, and compiling and distributing weekly update reports.
- Processes, enters, and remits payment for all bus related transactions in a timely manner.
- Assists in ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close through adherence to the Accounting Month End Close Checklist.
Minimum Requirements of the position are:
- Associates degree in Accounting, Business or similar field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Computer proficiency in web-based programs and applications, Microsoft Office Suite applications and related departmental software, with preference toward dealer management system (DMS) experience, to include researching and looking up information.
- Demonstrates financial and accounting knowledge.
