Applied Materials, Inc. has openings in Santa Clara, CA: Process Engineers (Req #L5035). Design, collect data, analyze and compile reports on Process Engineering experiments, within safety guidelines. Perform hardware characterization on moderately difficult systems. Troubleshoot moderately complex problems, perform Root Cause Analysis and resolve moderately difficult process engineering issues. Measure film properties, organize data/reports for review and interpret data. Generate internal documentation for products, presentations and technical reports. Resolve moderately difficult process engineering issues/problems under general supervision. Identify, select and work with vendors and suppliers, under general supervision. Implement new technology, products and analytical instrumentation. Analyze problem statements, develop and execute experiments and make recommendations for next steps. Interact with technicians, fellow engineers, support groups, management, account teams, and customers for issue resolution. Travel to various unanticipated domestic &/or international client locations, 10% of time.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field, and 2 years of experience in occupation or related position. Alternatively, accepting a Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
Demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in each of the following: Powerpoint presentation making; Chemistry and physics concepts; Electrical circuitry; SEM, TEM, XPS, FTIR, AFM, XRF, SIMS, EELS, ellipsometry, furnace annealing and vacuum chamber experiments.
Salary: $115,987.00 - $139,184.00/yr.
