SMV Recruiting is actively looking for a Director of Operations for a small manufacturing client near Phoenix, NY. Our client is looking for someone with a background in leadership, manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, and who can oversee the production floor. They need this person to be right-hand to the owner and ensure productivity schedules are met and orders are produce in a timely manner. Responsibilities:

• Supervise, motivate, train and hold staff of 10+ accountable


• Run morning meetings and determine production schedules


• Track and review metrics daily


• Create a strategic plan


• Manage an annual operating budget


• Focus on continuous improvement through Lean and Kaizen events


• Spend a large amount of time on the floor daily and support staff as needed


• Help run estimate meetings for new clients/products needed

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in engineering (preferred)


• 10+ years manufacturing experience


• 5+ years in leadership


• Lean Six Sigma certification


• Must be hands on, ok rolling up their sleeves, and being on the floor


• Experience working in a low volume production setting desired
