Senior Sales Professional - Complex Chemical Plant and Manufacturing Projects Company Overview:
Position Summary: The Senior Sales Professional will be responsible for working with our marketing team to identify, develop, and close new business opportunities. This role requires exceptional sales and relationship-building skills, a solid organized mind set, a clear understanding of the industrial marketplace, and robust communication skills. There are three critical areas of sales focus: 1. Managing Leads Generated By Our Marketing Team The marketing team has developed a robust lead generation system that identifies companies with potential projects. These leads are then contacted and vetted. Once a real opportunity is verified, they are transferred to our Senior Sales Professional to manage the Sales Process. 2. Maintaining Relations with Current and Past Clients Our Senior Sales Professional will develop and maintain relations with our client base as a complement to our engineering and construction teams. 3. Developing Long Term Relations With Target Accounts There are many larger companies that require a long-term approach to gain their business. The Senior Sales Professional will help identify these target accounts and develop and execute a strategy to make them a client.
Key Responsibilities: Business Development: o Work with our marketing team to develop opportunities generated through their research. o Proactively identify and qualify potential clients through your own efforts by networking and attending industry events. o Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at Target Accounts. o Collaborate with our marketing team teams to develop customized proposals and presentations that showcase our capabilities and value proposition.
Managing the Sales Process: o Lead the sales process from initial contact to contract negotiation and closing. o Daily execution of calls and activities thru CRM (Salesforce) o Conduct in-depth needs assessments with potential clients that can be shared with our engineering team and form the basis of our proposals. o Work closely with engineering and project management to ensure our proposals align with client requirements and budget. o Deliver persuasive sales presentations. o Closely manage closing activities and follow up.
Client Relationship Management: o Maintain ongoing communication and engagement with existing clients and former clients to identify opportunities for repeat business and expansions. o Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for clients by monitoring the progress of their projects and keeping the engineering and construction teams informed of any potential problems.. o Proactively address client concerns and resolve any issues that arise.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, or a related field is helpful but not essential. Experience: o Minimum of 7-10 years of successful sales experience in the chemical or industrial sector. Engineering or Construction sales strongly preferred. o Proven track record of closing complex, high-value projects. o Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. o Technical expertise in chemical plant design, engineering, and safety is a plus but not essential Skills: o Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. o Ability to work independently and as part of a team. o Self-motivated, results-oriented, and driven to succeed. o Willingness to travel in our Northeast region.
