Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking an Account Technologist in Santa Clara, CA to: Conduct qualification of "new" processes and technologies. Execute process ß-sites. Work with customers to understand the high value problem and perform demonstration with applied materials product to win business. Need to perform experiment on customer coupons and optimize accordingly. If issues were observed, need to work with R&D team to perform failure analysis and design DOE for troubleshooting. Share the learnings with internal team, file patents to secure applied materials IP. Perform chambers qualification before critical demo and execute demo. For chambers in the field, need to work with field support engineers to support start-up, field issues troubleshooting. Perform red team analysis and identify potential product weakness, give feedback to engineering team and improve applied materials product. Maintain good relationship with customers. Travel is required to work on customer tools and work with customers closely on field issues (yield, defect…).

Requirements: Master’s degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field (US or foreign degree).
Demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in each of the following:
1. Preclean (plasma-based chambers);
2. Physical vapor deposition (PVD);
3. Chemical vapor deposition (CVD);
4. Anneal;
5. XRF, 4-point probe measurement, TEM, EDX, bevel inspections, and/or TXRF;
6. Troubleshooting, DOE design, statistical analysis;
7. Atomic layer deposition;
8. Defect analysis;
9. Surface scan laser tools;
10. Electrical characterization such as mercury probe, corona charge measurement;
11. Semiconductor logic BEOL integration.

Salary: $119,780.00 - $143,736.00 per year
