Under general supervision, performs advanced skilled work requiring in depth knowledge of engineering standards and regulations relevant to construction and maintenance of municipal infrastructure. Responsible for inspecting drainage, sewerage, streets, and general engineering projects including the construction, methods, and materials of work performed by contractors and City work crews. Reports to the Director or Chief Administrative Officer.

Minimum Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Louisiana with the Louisiana State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors with two or more years of engineering work experience performed with a Professional Engineering license. Must possess valid Louisiana driver's license.

Note: If Engineering Professional registration is in another state, must obtain Louisiana Registration within one (1) year of employment.

NON-COMPETITIVE – All candidates determined to meet or exceed the minimum qualification requirement will be certified to the department with the current vacancies for possible interview.
