One of Austin's top interior design firms is seeking a Project Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is a reliable, organized, solutions-oriented individual capable of overseeing the day-to-day operations, communication, and implementation of design projects.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing projects from start to finish and should have extensive experience and a deep understanding of the design process. This role requires full engagement in all design phases, including conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction administration.
The Project Manager will collaborate closely with the Senior Designer and Principal throughout the project's lifecycle. Additionally, this individual will manage client relationships, maintain a constant understanding of the relationship's dynamics, set expectations, and educate clients on our process and what to expect as the project progresses.
Project Planning and Execution:
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, timelines, and resource allocation.
Responsible for coordination between designers, architects, contractors, clients and other project partners to ensure project objectives are met.
Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept development to final installation and client handover.
Facilitate weekly team check-ins to ensure were on track with our deliverables.
Coordinate upcoming deliverable meetings with clients, set appropriate expectations and create thorough meeting recaps.
Create and manage project timelines to ensure were meeting deadlines
Ensure all finish schedules are up-to-date and accurate (tile, stone, plumbing, hardware, wall and window covering schedules, etc).
Lead site visits, in collaboration with Designer; handle all documentation and follow up
Support other design team members as needed to foster a collaborative and positive work environment
Responsible for all meeting documentation and follow-up
Evaluate project requirements, develop comprehensive resource plans, and manage budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation and adherence to financial constraints throughout the project lifecycle.
Client Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their vision and requirements are understood and met, while maintaining strong relationships through regular communication and updates..
Address and resolve any client concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
Have a constant temperature read on the client and work with the ops team to produce monthly Client Heath Reports.
Budget and Financial Management:
In coordination with the Senior Designer, create and manage client furnishings budgets and material allowances
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure our file management systems are organized and up to date with the established naming conventions.
Prepare weekly detailed project status reports for clients.
Risk Management:
Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Address and resolve any project challenges or obstacles in a timely manner.
Anticipate and alleviate resource conflicts where possible and identify opportunities to prevent future conflicts.
Requirements
Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited program
Minimum 5 years related work experience
Demonstrate extensive CAD experience - expertise in creating and redlining construction documents
Strong construction and materials knowledge
Excellent, concise verbal and written communication skills
Extremely detail-oriented and accurate in all deliverables
