THE POSITION
Sr Staff Software Engineer, Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI:
Engage in software development process. Engage in software design and implementation, including communications, diagnostics using continuous integration streams. Provide technical guidance, regarding change evaluation: safety, security, cost, timing, and requirements analysis. Perform software testing and validation. Engage in business development and customer acquisition: align with customers during pre-project phase on the scope and timing of projects, assesses project technical and timing feasibility, negotiate the project schedule, including pre-production validation processes, gather and evaluate cost estimations from the global software team. Engage in peer process and technical coaching.
Telecommuting permitted up to 50% but required on-site Monday, Tuesday, and every other Friday.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Software, Computer, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and 5 years of related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:
• Programming experience in continuous integration streams (including C++, Java, or Python in GitHub);
• Using Agile, Scrum or ASPICE as software development standards of processes;
• Managing workloads for contributors (including other software developers, system engineers, functional safety or cybersecurity auditors), delegating tasks, providing technical training, reviewing design changes and assisting in contributors’ problem solving;
• Engaging in functional design according to regulations (including FMVSS126, FMVSS135, ECE13) and developing software according to ISO26262 standards for functional safety and cybersecurity;
• Coordinating parking brake related work packages;
• Coordinating Electrobit communication stack integration work packages;
• EPROM (eraseable programmable read-only memory or FEE (fully emulated eraseable programmable read-only memory) development experience;
• Analyzing data using Datalyser, Canape or Canoe; and
• Testing software components to validate customer and internal requirements.
Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience coordinating Vector communication stack integration work packages.
