Engineer 4, Software Development & Engineering



Provide technical leadership to a team responsible for designing and developing new software and middleware applications in Agile and Scrum development environments using Python; build APIs and microservices using AWS cloud services and components, including Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and EC2 or EBS; use Git and Github as source control; build CI/CD pipelines using Concourse; orchestrate containers using Docker; log, monitor, report and troubleshoot with ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana); support applications under development and customize current applications; assist with the software update process for existing applications and roll-outs of software releases; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers. Position is eligible to work remotely one or more days per week, per company policy.



***REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience developing software in Agile and Scrum development environments using Python; of which three (3) years include building APIs and microservices using AWS cloud services and components, including Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and EC2 or EBS; using Git and Github as source control; building CI/CD pipelines using Concourse, Jenkins, or Bamboo; orchestrating containers using Docker; and logging, monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting with ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana).
