Teach middle school students with mild/moderate learning support need. Detailed job duties include the following:
• Create and maintain a learning environment that reflects diversity and encourages constructive and productive interactions among students.
• Provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education.
• Create and maintain a rigorous learning environment with high expectations and appropriate supports for all students.
• Design and deliver instructional plans that are focused on student mastery of curriculum goals.
• Design and deliver learning experiences that develop students’ 21st Century Skills: critical thinking and problem solving, creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and global citizenship.
• Engage appropriate instructional strategies, resources and technologies to support the learning of all students.
• Implement second language acquisition strategies to support English Learners.
• Use a variety of formative and summative assessment techniques to establish learning goals and to plan, differentiate and modify instruction.
• Use a variety of assessment techniques to evaluate student progress on academic and social skills.
• Determine student eligibility for academic and social services through appropriate formal assessment measures.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans that reflect analysis of assessment data and prioritized goals and objectives.
• Conduct Individualized Education Plan reviews and reevaluations of students in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Collaborate with colleagues and the broader professional community to support student learning.
• Continue to improve as a professional educator by engaging in district-provided and self- selected professional growth opportunities.
• Supervise students in a variety of school related settings.
• Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff and community
• Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedure and practices
• Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities
• Select and requisition books, instructional materials and instructional supplies and maintain required inventory records
• Assist in accomplishing campus, department and district goals and initiatives.
• Plan and coordinate the work of instructional associates, teacher assistants and other paraprofessionals as appropriate.
• Perform basic attendance accounting and clerical services as required.
• Attend mandatory meetings (IEP, SST, Faculty, et al).
Salary: $70,000 -$134,400 per year.
Minimum job requirements: Bachelor’s degree and valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential for mild/moderate disabilities or mild/moderate support need.
