FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANT/COOK

Contract - 13 + weeks/3 + months (link removed) would definitely be a possibility for hire.
Job Summary:
- They would work in both our main kitchen (which is located in our hospital) as well as in our dining room (which is located in our LTC). Our facility is all in one and we take up the entire block.
- This would be 2 full time (40 hour) a week positions.
- The hours would be a mixture of 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, 9:30 am to 6:00 pm and 6:45 am to 3:15 pm. The 6 am and 9:30 am positions are our AM cook and PM cook hours.
General Responsibilties:
- Prepares, cooks, seasons and portions food within the guidelines of menu and dietary requirements for patients, staff, and visitors of the facility.
- Demonstrate the ability to speak, write and present clearly.
- Handles, prepares and stores food according to food safety guidelines.
- Performs corresponding food and kitchen preparation for internal or external inspection.
- Performs sanitation practices for food preparation area.
- Adheres to established procedures and dietary guidelines in food storage and menu planning.
- Completes current work according to assigned priorities.
Experience:
- Food Service experience required.
- Prefers at least one year health care facility experience.
Required Skills:
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Demonstrate the ability to speak, write and present clearly.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Dress Code:
Black scrubs, closed toe shoes. Hair restrain. No nail polish or artificial nails.

- There will be an initial orientation and one to two weeks on the job training.
