Job Title: Fiber Underground Technician Level 1

Salary: $18-$25/hr

Location: Vicinity of Norfolk, VA

Job Description:
We are seeking four Fiber Underground Technicians in the vicinity of Norfolk, VA. The ideal candidate will have a general understanding of drop and bury fiber optic cable installation and proficient with hand tools and digging equipment.

Responsibilities include:
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing underground fiber optic cables.
- Performing drop and bury installations.
- Operating and maintaining hand tools and digging equipment.
- Troubleshooting and resolving fiber optic issues.
- Ensuring all work complies with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborating with team members to complete projects efficiently.

Requirements:
- Basic understanding of drop and bury fiber optic cable installations.
- Basic proficiency with hand tools and digging equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Background check.
- Drug test.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- US Citizen/Green Card

Pay Ranges:
- Salary $18-$25/hr
- Spiffs, bonuses wage increases with knowledge of job
– Veteran Employment Benefits available, up to $550-$700 per week

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Technical certification in telecommunications or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience as an Fiber Optic Technician or in a similar role is a plus.
