Project Coordinator ( Electrical Construction ) Phoenix AZ Contract to hire About Client: A leading I&E (Instrumentation and Electrical) company dedicated to delivering high-quality services and solutions. Job Summary: The Project Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the successful execution of projects by coordinating with various teams and external partners. This position involves detailed planning, procurement, and scheduling to ensure that all project requirements are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review submittals, estimates, and requisitions to plan for and schedule purchases.
- Work with Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Engineers, Field Management, Technicians, and vendors to clarify requirements, specifications, and schedules.
- Maintain various project and company trackers (Project Log, Procurement, Staff List, etc.).
- Confer with vendors to obtain part and equipment information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Coordinate with the Customer, General Contractor, Trade Partners, Subcontractors, and Vendors to meet the demands of the Project requirements and schedule.
- Coordinate with the BIM team and Field Team on Design Assist and field routings.
- Based upon submittal requirements and specifications, place orders to receive the correctly specified parts and equipment delivered to the right job sites, and on the correct dates as needed.
- Determine the method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
- Order project-specific clothing.
- Issue purchase orders for material and subcontract labor.
- Track Purchase Orders.
- Keep customers and vendors informed of changes and status updates.
- Organize warehouse and track material received.
- Prepare purchase orders or bid requests.
- Review quotations and negotiate contract terms within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Maintain procurement records to track items or services purchased, costs, delivery, quality, and performance.
- Update project schedule based on GC Schedule updates.
- Assist with submittal preparation upon request.
- Assist with RFI preparation upon request.
- Assist with SIPP/Work Plan preparation upon request.
- Attend scope meetings (SD, DD, CD, IFC, and OTS).
- Field walk scopes when necessary.
- Manage Internal coordination meetings between field teams, BIM team, and management.
- Assist with managing field teams' timecards daily.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred ( Not Required )
- 2-4 years of experience in project coordination, preferably within the I&E or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and vendor management.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
