BIM Modeler III Architecture Department Role Type: Contract to Hire About Our Client Our client is a well-established engineering and design firm with over 50 years of experience in the industry. They provide a wide range of services, including architectural design, structural engineering, and project management to clients across the commercial, healthcare, and government sectors. Job Description As a BIM Modeler, you will be responsible for creating and managing project-specific families and models for the Architecture department. You will work closely with the Family Development Team, project coordinators, and detailers to ensure the accuracy and consistency of the company's Revit models. Your role will involve leading the modeling and documentation efforts for assigned projects, scheduling and assigning work to meet deadlines, and collaborating with other trades to coordinate the overall project. Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with the Family Development Team to create and maintain project-specific Revit families
- Lead the modeling and documentation efforts for assigned projects
- Schedule and assign work to the project team to meet deliverable dates
- Clean and purge background drawings/models for use in the company's Revit model
- Create the company's Revit model using backgrounds from other trades
- Collaborate with project coordinators and detailers
- Supervise the layout and input of marked-up drawings into Revit according to company standards
- Back-check others' work for accuracy before passing it on to the project team
- Maintain confidentiality and protect the company's intellectual property
Required Experience/Skills
- Associate degree in Computerized Drafting or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of total experience with knowledge of electrical symbols and electrical drafting conventions and standards
- Advanced working knowledge of the most current Revit modeling software, including creating and manipulating Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, and filters
- Ability to provide verbal and written direction, and turn that direction into appropriate, working design documents
- Complete understanding of the company's BIM processes and procedures, including workflow processes
- Proficiency in creating simple parametric families, utilizing shared parameters, creating schedules, and creating complex geometry
- Fluency in the current version of Revit software, 2D and 3D layout and design, Autodesk Navis Works, and Autodesk Design Review
- Ability to import documents, such as spreadsheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle experience preferred
- Strong prioritization and multitasking skills, with the ability to adapt to changing requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience working in the engineering/design industry
- Knowledge of 3D coordination with other trades
- Familiarity with company-specific Revit standards and procedures
