We are seeking a talented Process Development Engineer to lead projects that focus on developing new products, optimizing processes, and improving ingredient applications. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing processes that meet both production goals and consumer demands while evaluating process capabilities at different facilities. You will handle several projects at once, and create detailed Standard Operating Procedures, Process Instructions, and Semi-Finished Goods Specifications. A strong background in statistical analysis, experimental design, and process control is crucial for driving ongoing improvements and achieving project objectives Location: approximately 30 minutes outside of Boston, MA Job Responsibilities:
- Execute projects focused on new products, processes, ingredients, and continuous improvement.
- Work cross-functionally to drive the Customer to Concept process and bring new products to market.
- Develop processes to meet production and consumer needs; measure process capabilities with the plants.
- Maintain material handling, batching, and processing.
- Author Draft SOP, Process Instructions/Specifications, Semi-Finished Goods Specifications.
- Travel required as needed for business; communicate with the supervisor when not manageable.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- 2+ years of food industry experience; entry level PhD
- Masters/Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree in relevant scientific field of study
- Certifications such as Six Sigma are highly beneficial
- Technical knowledge of engineering and/or data analysis and food science.
- Fundamental knowledge of line equipment, sensory attributes, and the relationship with Customer and Consumer needs.
- Capability and capacity to manage several projects.
- Use and present knowledge associated with statistical analysis, Design of Experiment, and Statistical Process Control
- Ability to handle risk and uncertainty. Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- Strong self-accountability to meet deadlines and drive results; is accountable for own work; meets timelines and expectations; works independently and is accountable to deadlines while flexible to changing business needs.
- Effectively communicates requirements and tailor messages to the audience, check for understanding.
