Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Birmingham, AL

Position: Hybrid

Note:
This position will be primarily based from home office with the option to work from Alabama Power Corporation HQ office location in Downtown Birmingham.
Approximately 2 days a week of working hours to be remote and candidate must live within commuting distance to APC HQ ( 3 days a week).

Job Description:
Bachelors degree required (Engineering or Business degrees preferred)
Masters or advanced degree is a plus
Knowledge of project management or process flows is a plus.
Knowledge of bulk electric transmission contracts, federal and state regulations of electric utilities, power systems operations, transmission planning, wholesale marketing, Generator Interconnections/Qualifying Facilities, and/or engineering economics is a plus
Ability to understand and interpret regulatory orders, agreements, and contractual language
Demonstrated customer-focused mindset and ability to build effective relationships with peers and customers, as well as resolve customer issues
Demonstrated attention to detail and strong motivation for quality, accuracy and timeliness
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to be successful in this position
Strong organizational skills with ability to balance multiple assignments and responsibilities
Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite, specifically Power Apps, Power Automate, and PowerBI, is a plus
