Packaging Design & Project Manager Location: US-CA-Santa Barbara - 93101 Email Job

Project Management: Oversee the entire packaging process from conceptualization to
the final product, ensuring that all elements align with project goals and timelines.
Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with packaging suppliers to create and refine
die-lines, ensuring they are perfectly tailored to the product dimensions and
specifications.
Quality Assurance & Cost-Effectiveness: Work closely with the product team to ensure
the packaging not only meets quality standards and keeps the product secure and
undamaged, but also is cost-effective. This includes evaluating materials, manufacturing
processes, and overall design to balance quality with cost efficiency.
Design Collaboration: Partner with the Creative Director to determine the overall
aesthetic, functional design, and user interaction of the packaging.
Copy Oversight: Coordinate with the copywriting team to develop and finalize packaging
copy, overseeing the integration of copy within the design process.
Cross-functional Design Tasks: Handle various print & digital design projects as needed
by the ecommerce and wholesale teams, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Timeline Management: Ensure that the packaging design is completed in alignment with
the overall product development timelines, facilitating smooth and timely product
launches.
Job Requirements:
Educational Background: A Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Packaging
Engineering, or a related field.
● Portfolio Requirement: A strong portfolio showcasing a range of packaging designs and
projects, demonstrating both creative and technical skills.
● Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), and an
understanding of packaging materials, construction and printing processes. Working
knowledge of digital, web design, UI/UX, social, print, as well as packaging design.
● Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with different teams.
● International Supplier Communication: Demonstrated experience in successfully
communicating and negotiating with foreign suppliers, especially those based in Asia,
understanding the cultural nuances and business practices involved.
● Attention to Detail: A keen eye for design and detail, ensuring that all packaging
elements align with the brand’s standards and product requirements.
● Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address
design challenges and meet project objectives.
● Time Management: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the
ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
