Marsh McLennan is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Tokyo office.

Human Resources Manager, Japan

Key responsibilities:

Advise businesses on HR operations and policies.
Manage programs that support the business plan and HR strategy.
Recommend change initiatives and activities for specific client groups.
Ensure proper execution of actions resulting from organizational re-design.
Assist in developing reward strategies for client businesses, linking reward and recognition to performance and potential.
Support talent management programs, including performance management, coaching, training, career development, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Provide guidance to business stakeholders about the importance of colleague engagement and drive actions to improve this in collaboration with the business.
Identify opportunities to improve HR services and collaborate with other HR Centers of Excellence.
Implement changes to enhance service to People Managers.


What you need to have:

Bachelors degree in any discipline.
More than 5 years HR generalist or HR business partner experience.
Working knowledge of Japans employment ordinance and labour requirements is a must.
A good understanding of HR processes and operations.
A team player with a hands-on approach.
A good understanding of HR best practices and compliance in Japan. Prior experience in supporting managers with employee relations cases including investigations and administration of hearings.
The ability to coach People Managers in the business effectively through all aspects of the employee life cycle.
Effective communication, negotiation and influencing skills to deal effectively with colleagues in all parts of the organization.
Able to work collaboratively in a matrix environment and fast paced environment.
Written and spoken English and Japanese language skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
