Cloud Architect (Hybrid)

We have an immediate need for a direct hire Cloud Architect to join a multinational hospitality organization. The Cloud Architect will be primarily responsible for transitioning the company to public cloud by transforming legacy applications to Cloud Native and Event Driven Architecture.

Location: Houston, TX working 3 days onsite, 2 days remote per week.

This job expects to pay around $150,000 – 158,000 annually plus benefits.

What You Will Do:

• Provide technical guidance to the tech/product teams that addresses business value and customer objectives
• Influence strategic decision making with internal and external stakeholders through positive collaboration
• Proactively research and share best practices on emerging technologies to enable continuous improvement
• Innovate to help our customers, product and account management teams solve tough problems
• Responsible for design, architecture, development, and hands-on implementation of cloud solutions
• Serve as a Cloud technical resource in team’s efforts to determine the needs of our client’s businesses that will simplify and automate the applications as well as make them more efficient
• Work with application and architecture teams to conduct proof of concept (POC) and implement the design in production environment in the cloud platform
• Align solutions with standards and best practices working with cross-functional engineering and consulting teams; should be able to work in a cloud agnostic manner
• Perform risk analysis & create mitigation strategies for continuous evaluation and validation or system design and architecture

What Gets You The Job: 

• Bachelor’s degree with IT related subject, either directly or indirectly. Master’s degree preferred
• Any cloud architecture certification. Solution Architect certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Solutions Architect with recent hands-on development experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Infrastructure Lead and working in an Agile Environment
• Minimum 7 years’ experience as a senior software engineer /developer
• Experience with Cloud Enabled and Cloud native solutions and DevSecOps
• Advanced knowledge of distributed software systems, design patterns and architecture principles.
• Experience decomposing application components and determining how to leverage various technologies found with modern cloud services
• Experience with service-oriented architecture, web services, and Application Programming Interfaces
• Experience with Advanced Analytics, Data Science, including MI, ML, or RPA, Integration, API, Microservices, and User Experience
• Experience with project management
