Data Modeler, SQL/Azure (Hybrid)

We have an immediate need for a contract-to-hire Data Modeler, SQL/Azure to join our client, a national chain of convenience stores and gas stations. The Data Modeler will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data models to support various business needs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling principles, database design, and data management best practices.

Location: Tempe, Arizona (Hybrid)

This job expects to pay about $60 - 65 per hour plus benefits.

What You Will Do: 

• Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and data engineers to understand
• business requirements and translate them into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Design and develop data models using industry-standard modeling techniques and tools.
• Perform data profiling and analysis to understand data quality, structure, and relationships.
• Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and usability.
• Define and enforce data modeling standards, best practices, and guidelines.
• Participate in data governance initiatives to ensure compliance with data management
• policies and standards.
• Work closely with database administrators and developers to implement data models
• in relational and non-relational database systems.
• Conduct data model reviews and provide recommendations for improvements.

What Gets You the Job:

• 8+ years of experience in data modeling and database design and experience in Retail domain will be added advantage.
• Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of SQL on Azure SQL server and Databricks.
• Experience with data warehouse design and dimensional modeling.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
