ALL applicants must provide a cover letter and resume and apply through SVP's online portal at (link removed) Social Venture Partners Connecticut, a social impact organization that offers management consulting and capacity building services to nonprofit organizations, businesses, educational institutions, and state and local government entities, is looking to hire a Director of Workforce Development. This position will be responsible for providing project management, strategic consulting, and relationship and partnership development, to enhance Connecticuts workforce system, with a primary focus on the IT and Health Care sectors. This work will include: - Working with the CT Office of Workforce Strategy (OWS), Governors Workforce Council, and Regional Sector Partnerships to develop and implement job training programs aimed at addressing the current hiring needs in the technology and health care sectors.
- Partnering with business leaders, education, and community leaders to support the six technology and health care regional sector partnerships in CT and partnering with other regional conveners, OWS, and AdvanceCT.
- Working with business and education leaders to develop education and career pathway programs for high school and college students across the state.
- Coordinating and convening technology and health care leaders across the state to address workforce needs in their respective sectors, including diversifying their talent pipelines and adopting skills-based hiring strategies.
- Working with and supporting the work of SVP volunteer partners on the key initiatives in health care and IT.
This position will report directly to SVPs Executive Director. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Lead strategic initiatives in workforce development including working with the State of Connecticut, business leaders, educational institutions and nonprofit organizations. Support the further development and success of Regional Sector Partnerships in Technology and Health Care in collaboration with regional conveners, OWS, and AdvanceCT. Support the development of job training programs for the information technology and health care sectors, including the Technology Accelerator, Career ConneCT, Good Jobs Challenge, and CT Health Horizons. Develop career pathways programs in high schools and colleges in the technology and health care sectors. Build effective relationships with business leaders and offer support to companies in their workforce activities to expand opportunities for CT residents from marginalized populations. Support the Office of Workforce Strategy on various projects to advance workforce development in Health Care and IT. Provide leadership for the SVP Workforce Development Sector Management team that oversees all of SVPs nonprofit consulting work in workforce development. Measure the impact of SVPs activities in Workforce Development and provide reporting to the Executive Director and SVP Board on workforce development activities. Requirements Excellent organizational and project management skills Relationship development and partnership building experience. Bringing a strong sales orientation to the work to persuade key stakeholders to engage in this work. Management consulting experience is strongly preferred. Ability to help strategize and prioritize technology and health care initiatives. Demonstrated comfort level in managing ambiguity and enabling stakeholders to come together to develop and carry out clear and concise action plans. Strong communication skills-both verbal and written and comfort with public speaking. Ability to translate information into clear outputs for key stakeholders. Ability to create reports. - Strong ability in convening, communicating with, and managing C-Suite executives.
Project measurement and evaluation skills Mastery of core Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Self-starter who is pro-active and demonstrates high levels of motivation, organization and accountability and works both independently, and as a team member. Benefits - Salary range is $100,000 to $130,000 per annum plus benefits.

- Work Location and Requirements
- SVP operates out of offices in Westport, CT Employees may work on a hybrid basis, but will be expected to work in the office at least one day a week and attend weekly staff meetings, meetings with project partners and stakeholders throughout the state, and occasional evening organizational events.
