Job Title : Sr. Staff Accountant Location : New Iberia, LA - 70560 Type : Fulltime, direct-hire Summary: Position Summary: As a Senior Staff Accountant, you are responsible for participating in the preparation of accurate financial statements to report on the Company's financial health and operations, in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Company's accounting policies. Key Roles / Responsibilities: - Support the Director of Accounting and collaborate with the accounting team, in maintenance of the Company's books of account and the month-end close in compliance with GAAP and the Company's accounting policies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Review and analyze variations from monthly and seasonal trends and correlate to business activities.
- Plant costing compile and analyze plant, manufacturing, and inventory costs.
- Inventory accounting and reconciliation, including conducting periodic physical verification of raw materials and finished products on hand. Requires periodic travel to the Company's manufacturing facilities.
- Monitor and reconcile inter-company balances and calculate and record allocations.
- Primarily responsibility for maintaining the Fixed asset Register purchases, depreciation, dispositions, gain/loss on sale, and reconciliation of GL to sub-ledger.
- Cash and balance sheet reconciliations
- Research GAAP topics, as required.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in accounting with similar responsibilities, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Public accounting experience with manufacturing companies a plus.
- Experience with month-end reporting processes and financial statement analysis.
- Strong accounting fundamentals and thought process anchored in GAAP.
- Advanced Excel skills, including data manipulation, formulas, and pivot tables.
- Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining the books of account.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
