The person will play a key role in defining and completing a new service oriented architecture built on REST and maximizing API management. This engineer will act as technical lead during the construction, execution and support of a multi year service delivery roadmap following agile development methodologies, modern architecture patterns, and the JAVA technology stack in support of program objectives. This role demands significant collaboration with members of various business and IT groups throughout the lifecycle of a typical project.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• 5-8 years of software development experience
• 5+ years total OO development experience
• 4-6 years of Java EE development experience
• Investment/financial services experience is highly desired preferably within the equity compensation space

Skills and Knowledge:

• A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts.
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment while meeting desired results.
• Curiosity to stay abreast with new and emerging technologies and concepts and to find ways to apply those to business problems.
• Plays a key role in resolving technical roadblocks involving multiple technologies
• Experience with Agile development methodologies such as SCRUM, Extreme Programming, TDD etc.
• Strong verbal and written communications, must be able to actively engage other team members
• Understanding of Agile development methodology and exposure to development technique using Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Deployment (CD) and DevOps
• Prior experience working with development teams in onshore-offshore model

Technical

• Experience or exposure to a number of the following concepts and technologies is desired:
• Experience with API Manager tools
• Understanding of and experience with Micro-Services Architecture concepts and emerging patterns such as APIs, JAX-RS, REST/JSON
• Application development using Java EE, Spring framework
• Relational databases like DB2 or Oracle as well as no-SQL databases
• Event driver transaction processing using EAI, ESB and messaging patterns using technologies such as WSO2, ActiveMQ, Tomcat etc.
• Security integration using oAuth and LDAP
• CI/CD tools such as Maven, Git/Stash, Jenkins, Nexus, uDeploy, Docker etc.
