DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Position Title: Tagalog/Spanish speaking Surveyor
Summary: Be a part of WiLDCOAST's latest campaign to defeat pollution at the US-Mexico border by collecting surveys in Tagalog and Spanish. These surveys will play an integral part in our campaign to ensure that our beaches and ocean are clean and the health of our community is not compromised.
Supervisor: Paloma Aguirre, Coastal Conservation Program Coordinator
Goal of Position: Collect surveys from pier fishers and Ocean Users. Surveys will be used for a current study on possible health risks caused by fish consumption in south San Diego beaches. Sample of Specific Tasks:
1. Collect surveys in Tagalog
2. Collect Surveys in Spanish
3. Enter survey data collected into database
4. Aid in development of outreach materials based on study’s findings.
Location/Worksite: South San Diego County (WiLDCOAST office) and Imperial Beach Pier.

TIME FRAME
Length of Commitment: Approximately 2-4 months
Surveying times: Mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Hours per week: Approx. 8 hrs.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications Sought:
1. Some Tagalog required
2. Some Spanish required
3. Some experience surveying
4. Some knowledge of SPSS and/or other research analyzing tools.
5. B.S. or B.A. degree
