M&A Associate New York, NY
Individual will work closely with all Lines of Business in identifying, analyzing and prioritizing potential target acquisition and partnership companies and will play a lead role in supporting all transactions.
Principal Responsibilities:
Screen potential acquisition and partnership opportunities originating from internal and external sources.
Proactively research the financial services/insurance market, understand competitive set, and identify new opportunities.
Prepare research packages on acquisition candidates and perform preliminary analysis.
Monitor media for potential M&A opportunities and other relevant news.
Prepare M&A Executive Steering Committee memorandums and presentation materials.
Facilitate due diligence process for various M&A projects, by:
compiling information request lists or data room indices
* coordinating onsite due diligence logistics
* participating in onsite due diligence in support of project leaders
* managing flow of due diligence documents
* tracking status of information requests
Prepare Information Memorandums for divestitures.
Monitor deal progress and work to maximize results throughout the deal.
Prepare periodic reports on M&A activity for executive management and the Board of Directors.
Develop and maintain the standards and methodologies utilized in the acquisition process.
Job Requirements:
Keen business acumen including knowledge of insurance sector and finance.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg and OneSource, and internet research.
Strong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate effectively and influence others.
Ability to handle multiple priorities with changing deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy. Careful and thorough preparation of material is essential.
High level of initiative, self-starter, flexible, proactive and a team player.
Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work under time constraints and additional work hours on a regular basis.
Superb writing skills.
Tact and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
Ability to independently set and meet goals/objectives.
Experience working with senior executives, both internally and externally.
Ability to think strategically.
