The Senior Software Developer's role is to define, design, develop, assess, and troubleshoot software programs, applications and products of a highly complex technical nature. This includes configuring, coding, developing, and documenting software specifications and code throughout the project life cycle. Responsible for implementing new features, enhancing and maintaining existing functionality and developing new products.
Major Responsibilities:
- Developing new features for commercial software releases - including estimation, design, implementation, documentation and unit test.
- Customer and QA-found defect repair in core server components.
- Communicate regularly with development manager and team lead - including status updates, roadblocks, new ideas and areas to improve.
- Follow and help improve all software development processes and procedures.
- Work with peers to develop the best software possible.
- Communication of and adherence to T.E.A.M. (Teamwork, Energy, Accountability, and Mastery)
Experience and Skill:
- Experience developing commercial software products, preferably Microsoft SQL-based products.
- Programming experience interacting with SQL Server or other relational database
- Experience translating business and market requirements into software requirements
- Experience with Microsoft development tools including Visual SourceSafe, Visual Team System, Visual Studio.
- Extensive C#, C++, .Net experience
- Gensym G2 rules engine experience a plus
- Web services, WCF experience a plus
- Experience with iterative development processes a plus
Education:
- B.S. Computer Science or Engineering
