DailyCandy, the popular style and trends web site, is seeking an experienced QA Consultant. We're looking for a well-rounded QA Consultant who enjoys working on diverse and challenging projects. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, able to work with little supervision, and capable of working closely with non-technical colleagues. Our technology team runs a number of systems, from mobile applications to MapReduce logfile processing, all built on open-source components. We provide a fun, relaxed environment, an ideal place for developers to hone their skills and learn some new ones. Responsibilities     •    Verify quality acceptance of web-based applications across multi-platform environments     •    Apply QA principles and methodology to develop test cases and detail test scenarios and oversee their execution, tracking, and automation.     •    Perform functional and regression testing to manually and visually check site quality     •    Set up testing environments with re-usable test cases     •    Responsible for moving code to testing, staging and production environments     •    Able to create automated deployment and test scripts     •    Guide projects through the SDLC in a lead role     •    Participate in status meetings and help in determining “go/no-go” status of projects     •    Assist in on-going process improvement efforts to ensure test planning, execution and reporting is effective and efficient     •    Review and help improve product documentation     •    Work closely with developers to resolve issues and reproduce bugs Key Qualifications     •    BS or MS in Computer Science degree or equivalent experience     •    5+ years of directly related experience in QA and software testing, preferably web-based     •    Demonstrate abilities to lead and manage large product features from inception to production     •    Passion for testing and the ability to work independently on diverse problems     •    Ability to write, maintain, and verify test cases. Develop test matrixes, identify test data and use case requirements     •    Production deployment experience and sustaining team release experience     •    Experience in testing methodologies and theories (e.g. negative, white box, and stress testing techniques), test plan development, test case design, and test execution practices.     •    Good working knowledge of web technologies including: HTML, JavaScript, Java, Python, Spring, Hibernate     •    Hands on experience writing SQL queries     •    Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills     •    Must be available and willing to work extended hours as occasionally needed (during crunch times!) per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, to meet business needs     •    Experienced with TDD / BDD methodologies     •    Familiar with quality and code coverage metrics Must be eligible to work in the US.
